If you’re looking to spice up your fall wardrobe with some new clothing and jewelry, you’ve come to the right place!  This Saturday, we’re proud to welcome new vendor Michelle Raymond who offers handmade jewelry with a unique blend of designs.  Michelle is consistently inspired by her surroundings and reflects on her time living and traveling abroad.  Her collection reflects everything from the grandeur of Old Hollywood to the Golden Altar of San Jose in Panama City to the color spice markets in Marrakech and more. Mischa Barton, Audrina Patridge, and Carrie Underwood are fans, and once you check out this amazing jewelry at Hester, you’ll be a fan too!  We’re also pleased to have new clothing vendor BUSOG (pronounced boo-soog) joining us at Hester.  BUSOG is an independently run Fashion/Style company with a community of designers creating everything from tee-shirts to hoodies to wallets and headgear.  If their designs look familiar to you, it’s probably because they were featured on Season 2 of the hit TV series Glee!  BUSOG tees were worn by your favorite characters Mercedes Jones and Mike Chang, and now you can own one too!  And last, but certainly not least, new clothing vendor American Flora offers environmentally responsible premium dance and yoga wear.  Founded by a veteran dancer, American Flora’s dance and yoga wear emphasizes a woman’s true femininity, athleticism and beauty.  These high-performance garments were inspired by a passion for dance and the beauty of the natural world, and wearing these eco-friendly designs will in turn inspire you.  Now is the perfect time to get some great workout gear to inspire you to get in shape – then you can look forward to that huge Thanksgiving dinner, guilt free!

Hester Street Fair: The Final Month of the 2011 Season. Get Your Hester Fix While You Still Can!

Thursday, September 29th, 2011

Hippie Pills

Hey there Hester lovers!  Can you believe that this Saturday marks the first of October?  Time sure does fly when you’re having fun!  October is the final month that the Hester Street Fair will be open this season, so come on down and get your Hester-fix before it’s too late!  But don’t worry – we’re open every Saturday ‘til the end of the month, and we’ll of course be back next year, so you have plenty to look forward to!

Bun Mi Catering

As always, we have plenty of special and unique vendors to pique your interest this week.  If you’re headed to Hester with a case of the munchies this week, food vendor highlights include Bun Mi Catering, who translates some of the most popular Asian street food staples into the New York environment.  Try the shrimp slider buns or the sautéed mushroom tacos – you won’t be disappointed!  And what’s a street fair without a good pickle vendor?  Check out Picklena for perfected jalapeño pickles – a robust combination of sliced and pickled Kirby cucumber with the necessary jalapeno, red pepper and onion.  These unique flavors will entice a fellow to do the Texas two step right on the spot!  If you’re more in the mood to satisfy your sweet tooth, head over to FattyCakesNY, home of New York’s ridiculous cookies. What could be better than flavors like Sticky Fingers (peanut butter cookie packed with homemade peanut brittle, caramel, and butter popcorn) and The Jules (a butter cookie filled with cherry jam)?  Nothing, that’s what!

Picklena

FattyCakesNY

Once you’ve stuffed yourself to your heart’s content, you can mosey on over to some of the best shopping on the Lower East Side.  Highlights this week include Crème de la Cuff with beautiful vintage cufflinks that have been meticulously and lovingly acquired one by one, as well as Edzayi with fabulous baby accessories and toys, each designed with a hint of whimsy, a sprinkle of impish charm and a dash of sophisticated elegance.  And don’t leave without stopping by Hippie Pills, where you’ll find everything from charm bracelets (vintage car charms, good luck charms, ecology charms, yoga charms – you name it!) to colorful and sparkly bags.  Get all your Hester shopping in this month, or you’ll be kicking yourself when you have to wait until next season to score these great finds!
